The work
What we clean
Lounge suites, armchairs and scatter cushions. Carpets, rugs and stair runners. Mattresses and headboards. Dining chairs. Curtains that come down. Tiled floors and grout.
Most people skip the sofas and mattresses, because every method they know would soak them.
Residue
Why it looked worse three weeks later
Steam puts no detergent into the fibre, so nothing is left behind to attract dirt.
Shampoo leaves detergent in the fibre. Detergent attracts dirt, so the carpet looks better for a fortnight, then worse and stickier than before.
Wet extraction has the opposite problem. It puts a lot of water into a carpet, and in Jeffreys Bay humidity it stays damp for days and starts to smell.
Drying
How long before we can sit on it
A lounge suite is usually fine the same day, with a window open in normal Kouga weather. It's damp to the touch, not soaked.
A carpet takes longer than a couch, and a thick rug longer still. We'll tell you what to expect before we start.
Is it safe for pets and small children?
No detergent goes into the fabric, so nothing is added for anyone to lie on. The equipment gets hot, so our operator handles it and never leaves it standing around.
Will it remove pet odour?
Usually it improves a great deal. Steam cleans the fabric itself rather than covering the smell with a fragrance, and severe odour in the backing can need a second treatment.
Will my grout come back to its original colour?
Usually much closer than you expect. We can show you on a test patch first.
Limits
What we will not do
Some stains are dye damage, not dirt, and no method removes them. We don't guarantee stain removal.
Severe pet odour lives in the backing, not the pile. It usually improves a great deal on one treatment and sometimes needs a second.
Steam takes the dirt out. It doesn't repair cracked or damaged tile and grout, and grout stained right through won't come back to new. We check natural stone before we start.
We are not a pest control company. That is a regulated activity in South Africa and we do not offer or guarantee eradication of anything.
