For factories, workshops and plant

The degreaser is the cheapest part of using degreaser.

What comes with the drum costs more than the drum. Dry steam cleans with heat and very little water, and no solvent.

A factory floor with machining centres and workers

The problem

The shutdown window, and what uses it up

Line down

Switched off and made safe, and the clock starts

Every minute after this is charged to the whole plant rather than to the cleaning budget.

6 to 7 min

The steamer is at working pressure

Optima publishes six to seven minutes to heat on the XE 18K and the 27K.

The clean

Heat, and very little water

Grease ground into concrete, carbon on an extraction run, release agent in the detail of a mould tool. The XE carries a 72 litre tank for long runs.

Line up

No floor to stand and wait for

Hosing a bay leaves standing water, which is a slip risk underfoot and a reason to keep equipment near it switched off until the floor is dry. Nobody budgets for that wait.

Why steam, here

Solvent and a hose, or heat and very little water.

Take the solvent out. Its storage cupboard, safety data sheet, training record, protective equipment and contaminated wash water go with it. None of it is on the cleaning budget, but the business pays for all of it.

It goes on all of this:

  • Workshop floors
  • Machine frames
  • Mould tools
  • Heat exchangers
  • Extraction ductwork
  • Loading bays

Questions

What buyers ask before they decide

Will it get oil out of concrete?

How much it lifts depends on how long the oil has been in the slab and how porous it is. It will not strip a coating, and it is not a parts washer.

Does it need mains power?

The diesel steamers need very little. The XD, the XDm and the DMF heat with diesel, carry their own water and draw around 0.3 kW, which a small inverter handles. The plug-in and three-phase steamers need your supply.

What power supply do the electric steamers need?

The XE range runs on three-phase, 200 V to 600 V depending on variant. The 27K is 380 V to 600 V. Send us your supply details with your enquiry and we will tell you what fits before anybody quotes anything.

Name the surface your team has stopped fighting.

Tell a specialist what is on it, what it is made of and how long your shutdown window is. They'll tell you which steamer suits it, or that steam is the wrong tool.
